Fall is finally showing in Houston, which means I get to pull out some more Fall-ish pieces like this Patagonia, quarter-zip, "Better Sweater." I really love playing outside, and Patagonia is my go-to, sustainable outdoor fashion brand. This cross-dye pullover sweater combines the aesthetic of wool with the easy care of polyester fleece dyed with a low-impact process that significantly reduces the use of dyestuffs, energy and water compared to conventional dyeing methods. It also features Fair Trade Certified™ sewing. I wore this sweater all over Peru and love the zip pocket on the sleeve! Really useful for carrying money or keys when you're outside and want to travel light.
Side Note: If I were to purchase this sweater again, I would probably size up. The sweater pictured is an XS, and it is really fitted and tighter than what I prefer. Also, because it's so tight, I can't layer anything more than a thin tee underneath. The sweater is really warm so the sweater + tee is okay for temps in the 50s-60s, but anything colder than that, and you probably want to add some layers underneath or over the top.
To add some edge to this sweater, I paired it with a denim mini-skirt from The Reformation, one of my go-to, based in L.A. (but now have a store in Dallas!) sustainable fashion brands. They usually always have some sort of mini skirt on sale. So if this particular one isn't available, there's usually others. The fishnet leggings add something a little bit different to the outfit. I actually really hate putting these on because you have to be really careful not to snag, but I took one for the outfit today. This particular pair was purchased from Nordstrom (Brand: Commando, Style: Open Air High Waist Fishnet Tights).
The boots in this picture are from Timberland's Glancy 6-inch boots. (6-inch refers to the shaft of the boot. The heel is 3-inches). One of my favorite things about this boot is the OrthoLite® comfort foam insoles which makes this shoe comfortable and supportive, perfect for being on your feet for a few hours at an event.
Cheers to Fall! Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a fabulous day!
