I've been looking for the perfect velvet blazer for almost two months now! I went to visit all my regular stores (online of course) and just couldn't find one that resonated with the vibe I was going for. All of the velvet blazers currently in the stores were either poorly constructed, or really pricey (like $400+), which is something I was not about to do. So, I started looking on eBAY and Etsy and BAM! One day, this lovely piece pulled up on the screen.
The trick to eBAYing and ETSYing is that you need to check it frequently, like every day (sometimes multiple times per day). And then when you see something, you need to commit to buy it pretty much right away. I've never really had a bad experience on either platform, but I do make sure I purchase from sellers in USA/Canada, preferably with many positive reviews.
I was so excited when this blazer came in the mail, that I immediately tried it on with my sweaty, chill-day, post Whole Foods self and snapped some photos. It probably needs some alterations, and perhaps a change of buttons (?) but overall, I'm very pleased with this plush velvet purchase!
Also styled with Warby Parker Lilia Frames in gold, black studs by New England maker, Loren Hope, a bodysuit by Free People, my Citizens of Humanity boyfriend jeans (also purchased on eBay a while ago for literally under $20) and my Fall 2017 capsule splurge, Stuart Weitzman black suede booties. Not wearing any makeup, but I did throw on some lazy girl chic "lipstick" for this photo--Bobbi Brown art stick in Dusty Rose (but now I think it's called Rose Brown). Enjoy!
